INFORMATION ON OUR SERVICES

 

Babies and Children

Baby Clinic Tues 11.00 – 12.30

Our Health Visitors run a baby clinic for general advice and checks, starting at 11.00 and no appointment is necessary.  In addition, the practice nurses carry out immunisations from 11.30 and the doctors are available at the same time for advice and new baby examinations.

 

 

Womens Health

The practice provides maternity services and full family planning services including fitting of coils (IUD’s/IUS)

Women aged 20-60 years should have a cervical smear test every 3 years.  A reminder will be sent when the next smear is due.    The National Breast screening programme is run locally from Springwell House in Ardmillan Terrace for women aged 50 – 64yrs.

 

 

Adult Health Checks

All adults are encouraged to have blood pressure and health checks every 5 years.  We also provide advice on healthy eating and how to reduce the risks of heart disease and stroke.

 

Minor Surgery

Certain procedures such as removal of skin lumps, warts and joint injections can be performed by your doctor, often with the assistance of the practice nurse.  Please ask your doctor for details.

 

Travel Clinic

Basic Travel Advice (inc. Diphtheria, Tetanus, & Polio vaccination)– Free on NHS

If a prescription is required for any other vaccine, a prescription charge will be applicable.

 

 

Specialist Travel Advice – Non NHS – Private Fee applicable

We charge a standard fee for the advice, private prescription and administration of Non-NHS vaccines.  You can also access advice, vaccinations and malaria prophylaxis direct from external travel clinics:

Non NHS Medical services –

Insurances and other private medicals (HGV etc) can be arranged in the surgery.  Most of these services are not provided under the NHS and a charge will be payable.
